Recently one of my friends gave up his life by hanging himself .It was a shocking news for me.
I knew him from school and to my knowledge he was fun loving and active guy.I don't know what made him take such a drastic step.He was a NTSE scholar and a bright student .It was only recently that he was not able to take up the engineering exam stress and had few backlogs. But that's no reason to end up one's life.
I have seen people who have got 3-4 backlogs, passing engineering with a job in their hand.
In 2006, 5,857 students — or 16 a day — committed suicide across India due to exam stress. And these are just the official figures

Some blame education system, some media and some blame parents for too much pressurizing their children to perform well. Whenever such sensitive topics come up in media, there is always blame game, but no solution.
